Let’s Eco WALK the talk
Hello world! Welcome to Eco WALK the talk…I hope the name pretty much says it all. My objective in setting up this website is to enable all of us to take proactive steps towards reducing our ecological footprint on this planet, and help save the earth’s fragile environment.
Making your step count to save the planet
Every single step we take does count..and this website is designed to make it count in a more significant way. First, to open our eyes to the various ecological issues in the world (from time to time, leaning more towards Asia and Asian rainforests in particular as these are causes very close to my heart). Next, to make us aware of concrete steps on “how” to WALK the talk. Finally, to urge and persuade you to take action, to take at least one new step out of the several that have been recommended or something new you can think of as a result of reading my blog.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
- Margaret Mead
Can you and I really make a difference? I have great hope and confidence that every individual action can and will create a force for change. The one small step you take, will surely lead to several other small steps, in a ripple effect, within your family, within your community and in the world. We can all realise together the dream of making the world a better place, so that our children and their descendants can enjoy and appreciate what we are enjoying of our world.
I take a lot of inspiration from what Jane Goodall says in “The Ten Trusts”
“Every day of life is a test. Do we actually “walk our talk?” Do we practice what we preach? Do we think about the footsteps we leave as we move through life? And, above all, do we have the courage to stand up for what we believe in when others laugh at us? Or when they threaten us? If we care, truly care, about the natural world about the wellbeing of animals, then we must be prepared to face the challenges, both small and large, that come our way. We must stand up for our beliefs and, above all, put them to practice. We must not despair, but live with hope for the future.”
Let’s Eco WALK the talk then!!
