Climate Change in Bangladesh (Videos)

Bangladesh Woman floodThe UK non-profit organisation, Oxfam has released a series of videos that show how much of a day-to-day reality Climate Change is for the people of coastal areas of Bangladesh.  It’s interesting that all those featured here are women, young and old.  A Treehugger article brought out the reality that women are more likely to be impacted by the effects of climate change, especially when there is absence of equal rights.

Hasina’s Story

Salma’s story

Sufia’s story

The loss and suffering these women face are very real.  But there is a message of hope in each story; that there is a way to teach people to adapt to the effects, to cope with a changing and uncertain future.
